Elise A. Waisbren

Elise handles cases involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability, automobile/trucking negligence, elevator/escalator negligence, sexual torts, and dog attacks.

Elise has taken on powerful medical device companies in the women’s health space, major hospitals, and big box retailers. She is an experienced trial lawyer and has secured multi-million-dollar settlements for her clients.

Elise is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers’ Association, where she is honored to serve on its Board of Managers. She is also a proud member of the American Association for Justice.

Elise takes special pride in her trial advocacy and legal writing skills. In law school she was a member of the national trial advocacy team, ranked #4 in the country by U.S. News & World Report, and won a regional championship. In 2017, her win against Johnson & Johnson and Ethicon, Inc. in a contested motion in federal court was published in Thompson Reuter’s Westlaw Journal Medical Devices. 2017 WL 2958355.

From 2015-2022 Elise was named “Rising Star” in the Thompson Reuter’s Illinois Super Lawyers publication, a distinction that is limited to fewer than 2.5% of the attorneys in Illinois. In 2023, she was elevated to the “Super Lawyers” list in the same publication. Since 2016, she has been named to the Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s “Emerging Lawyers” list, an honor given to the top 2% of lawyers in Illinois who are age 40 or younger or have practiced 10 years or less.

Elise’s bar admissions include Illinois, Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She received her B.A. from University of Wisconsin Madison in 2008 and her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2011.
